Meet Dr. Duffy!
In 2014, the University of Washington School of Dentistry awarded Dr. Thomas Duffy, DDS, a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He was a member of the third class of the Regional Initiatives in Dental Education (RIDE) Program while he was there, which places emphasis on early clinical skills, a broader skill set that is frequently required in more rural or underserved areas, and direct collaboration with numerous health care specialties. This training serves Dr. Duffy’s patients well and he is known for his precision, gentleness and attentiveness.
Dr. Duffy was raised in Redmond, Washington, where he developed interests in computer repair, tennis, photography, classical piano, hiking, and other sports. He studied philosophy, mathematics, and theology at Thomas Aquinas College, a small Catholic liberal arts college in California. He and his wife, Sarah, a native of Gig Harbor, got to know each other while enrolled at the UW for their individual doctorate programs in music and dental surgery. They currently have a boy and four girls. Dr. Duffy participates in the parish men’s group and the Knights of Columbus, and Sarah plays the organ at their church. Dr. Duffy belongs to the American Dental Association, the Pierce County Dental Society, and the Washington State Dental Society.
